That depends on how you use mega.nz. I you never use their website,
you'll be able to more reliably control your key, because it's never
handled by a code you don't have full control over, like a web
client loaded from mega.nz's server.

I don't plan adding features to megatools myself. I only merge patches
from other people at this point.

I don't have any guidance to offer with regards to ftp. Though you
can use megatools on raspberry pi itself just fine.
